The completion of SIFs covering the period of lockdown
By way of information this is the guidance sent by the Diocese to Parish Priests following enquiries from parents wishing to apply for a place at St Peter’s School starting in September 2021 who have expressed concern about their inability to attend Church services during the recent lockdown. This is the guidance that is being shared with the clergy week commencing 13 July…
The Secondary School application process will begin shortly. Some of our schools use Mass attendance as a measure for categorising applications. This year when you sign the SIFs you will naturally only be able to take into account the frequency of parents’ attendance prior to the start of lockdown, as the Sunday obligation has not yet been reinstated. This will also apply for any parents making in year applications for their children to move to a Catholic school.
Please note that the SIF is a document to be completed by the Parish Priest and any comments about the above matter should be addressed solely to your Parish Priest and not to the School.
