St Peter’s is a Catholic school with a strong Christian ethos which underpins all we do. We are an Academy, jointly sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth and the De La Salle Order – an international organisation which has been running schools for over 300 years. The most recent Ofsted rating in September 2017 was ‘Good’.

 

The school consists of two sites, with Primary accommodated at Iford and Years 7 to 13 at Southbourne. It is a school with a tradition of success, oversubscribed every year and benefitting from a deservedly positive reputation in the local community. Relationships with families are affirming and constructive. Parents and carers are keen to support the school and the children’s learning.

 

We are looking to recruit an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA qualified accountant (or part qualified and currently studying), with a wide range of experience to join our busy finance team to lead on day to day finances of the academy. You will ensure all systems are effective and lead the management of the academy’s finances and finance staff. The Finance Manager will work with the Headteacher and the School Business Manager to ensure that resources are used effectively to support the school’s vision and objectives.

 

The post is initially for 20 hours per week, working 42 weeks per year (Actual salary £15,000 – £16,828). Flexible hours can be negotiated within the contract. We are looking to recruit someone with enthusiasm and strong fundraising abilities, to seek new additional funding for the school. Salary enhancements will be awarded for additional secured income, subject to performance management outcomes.

 

You will be responsible for, and therefore must be able to demonstrate evidence of the preparation of budgets (including 3 year Medium Term Financial Plan), the preparation of an internal monthly reporting pack, together with end of year closedown and statutory financial reports. Additional training will be available where required.
