In Key Stage 3 students build their knowledge and skills by designing and making in Textiles, Food and Resistant Materials. Every pupil studies each unit in rotation during the year. Safety is an important part of the curriculum.
In Food Technology students investigate aspects of nutrition, healthy eating and develop their knowledge and understanding of food materials through a range of practical tasks. Students are encouraged to work independently with an emphasis on planning to complete a range of focused outcomes. They learn how to modify basic recipes to improve their nutritional content and evaluate their finished products with suggestions for improvement.
