On the evening of the 26 March, the Annual Spring Concert was held in the De La Salle Theatre. Students spent the entire school day perfecting every note and harmony, filling every practice room to the brim – and it is safe to say all of the hard work definitely paid off.
Audiences were treated to an evening of dazzling music from a wide range of performers, from the Year 7 Brass Band to Sixth Form singers. Providing over 2 hours of endless entertainment, featuring songs such as the Tango Maureen, Seventeen and Beethoven’s Ecossaise.
A special mention should be made to the Year 13 BTEC Performing Arts students, who not only performed a stunning ensemble piece but also used the Spring Concert as their official singing exams – we wish them luck with their results.
Special thanks go to:
Ms Phillips, Ms Burgess and Mr Baker – who not only organised the whole evening and auditioned all of the acts, but also played musical accompaniments to many performers on an unbelievable number of different instruments.
Sandie – for rehearsing and playing the piano for all of the singers on the night. It was greatly appreciated!
Ms Hubbort– for providing hospitality and food/drink during the interval.
Backstage and Tech Crew – as always, evenings like this would not function without people working backstage providing lights, microphones, music stands, etc.
