Past student, Carlo Covello, was recently invited back to St Peter’s to talk to our Year 11 GCSE RE students. RE Teacher, Mrs Bright, taught Carlo 15 years ago when he was predicted a Grade C for RE. With sheer determination and hard work he achieved an A*. Carlo stayed at St Peter’s to complete his A Levels gaining a place at John Moores University, Liverpool, where he studied Law. He then continued his studies at Cardiff where he studied a Postgraduate Bar Vocational course – the qualification needed to be a Barrister. Carlo now works at JP Morgan.
The Year 11 students enjoyed Carlo’s honest and amusing talk about his experiences of being a student and St Peter’s. He offered them a personal insight into why it is so important to focus and really work hard in the final months before their GCSE exams begin. Carlo also shared with the students the merits of achieving a successful grade in RE at GCSE. Carlo’s talk was engaging and inspiring and hopefully will help the students to make the most of their final months left at St Peter’s and in their lives beyond!
