ParentPay is an online payment system for schools. It allows parents to pay quickly and securely for school meals, trips, activities, clubs, music lessons etc. You simply top-up your ParentPay account online or through PayPoint stores.

The system operates on a biometric basis, so there is no need for students to even carry a card as the system will recognise the thumbprint of your child. Biometrics are made up of code and cannot be recreated into a useable finger print image. The system falls under the data protection act. Any biometric data that belongs to an individual that leaves the school is removed from the records.

Cash will still be accepted during the transition period only.

Any amount of money can be paid into the students account, with any money spent on food and drink being deducted on a daily basis. A daily spend limit of £5 will be programmed into the system, however, this can be increased or decreased for an individual student on receipt of a written parental request to the Finance Office.

In line with current legislation, we will be operating an ‘Opt In’ policy and therefore require you to complete the appropriate form. If you choose not to have your child registered on the Biometric System a 4 digit PIN Code will be allocated. Please note that PIN Codes do not have the same level of security and it will be your child’s responsibility to remember the code and keep it secure at all times.

If you have not yet registered for a ParentPay account and have mislaid your log on information, please contact the School Finance Office. In addition to the ParentPay online system, students may reload their accounts by coin or note at the revaluation pay point located within the dining hall, or by cheque in the School Finance Office.

Please see Frequently asked questions. Should you have any further queries please contact the School Finance Office at Southbourne.

Registering for the Biometric Trust-e Cashless System

As the ‘Live Date’ for the new Biometric Trust-e Cashless System supplied by Nationwide Retail Systems Ltd is imminent, we require the consent of at least one parent in order that the biometric information of your child can be processed. If you have not yet done so, please complete the Biometric consent form and return it to the School Finance Office. Please be assured that this information remains within the school and that the biometric information taken is an algorithm and not the actual finger print.

If you choose not to have your child registered the school will provide a 4 digit PIN code. The preference of the school is to use biometrics as this is more secure and faster than any other method of identification.
