Prizes were given out this week to students who took part in the Sustrans active travel raffle last week by cycling to school. 610 student journeys were made by bike in the week (on average, 122 students cycled to school each day). Thanks to Sustrans for the prizes.
With only three weeks left until the Christmas holidays, the countdown in chocolate form for many has well and truly begun!

A huge thank you to Sunday Times bestseller and author of destination thrillers, Lucy Clarke, who visited the library to talk about her life as a writer this week. Students heard how former student Lucy was in her twenties when she was inspired by her love of travelling, reading and the writing of her journal to become an author.
Our GCSE Certificate evening will take place in the theatre on Tuesday 26 November at 6pm. We will be giving out subject awards alongside the GCSE examination certificates to those who were awarded grades in this Summer’s examinations and there will also be some light refreshments afterwards and a chance to catch up with others from your year group.
The trophy for winning the Dorset and Wiltshire State School 10 a side Rugby competition arrived today from the RFU.

On Friday 4 October the U17 boys rugby team travelled to Bryanston school to compete in the Dorset and South Wiltshire county 10 a-side competition. There were 16 state school from across the counties competing in the stunning grounds of Bryanston school.
The library at Southbourne has just taken delivery of this month's latest magazine titles, which students are welcome to read in the library at break or lunchtime and after school.
