On Friday 27 September Year 12 and 13 celebrated the start of the new academic year at the highly anticipated Annual Sixth Form Freshers event.
Around 170 students in the Sixth Form attended the occasion, which was held at the Hilton Hotel in Bournemouth from 7pm until 11pm.
The night was organised by the Sixth Form leadership team, including Head Girl Miah Herford, Head Boy Andrew North and Deputy Head Girls Ellie Thomas, Liberty Voisey and Naomi Austin. This year’s fancy dress theme was ‘film and TV characters’ and there were many extravagant and entertaining costumes on the night, including dalmatians, Disney princesses, cheerleaders and even Andy Pipkin.
There was music, dancing, delicious food and photos, and the evening was a roaring success among students with many remarking on how much they enjoyed the night. It was amazing to see so many new external students, of which there are around 80 this year, forming friendships at the event and it was a great way for Year 12 to settle into the Sixth Form. It was also a brilliant time for Year 13 to have fun and socialise before a busy year ahead. Many thanks to the Sixth Form leadership team and the teachers who worked tirelessly to host such a wonderful and memorable event.
