St Peter’s students have achieved the best GCSE results in the school’s history with over 81% gaining a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths.

Mr David Todd, Headteacher, who retires this year, writes, “These are a tremendous set of results and a testament to the determined endeavours of the students and the dedication and inspiration of all the staff. It has been a privilege and honour to lead such a wonderful community and heartening to leave St Peter’s as such a successful and thriving school. As our remarkable A Level results last week demonstrated, we can provide a rounded, holistic education and produce great outcomes for our young people. The results also prove that students with a range of prior attainment can be taught side-by-side in an inclusive and socially cohesive way.”

The students were elated as they received their results. Around a quarter of all results were at Grade 7 or above. “The progress our students have made is also superb, we estimate that all our students, on average, performed over a third of a grade better than similar students nationally in all their subjects.” Said Mr Todd.

Mr Ben Doyle, who has been appointed as the new Headteacher stated, “it has been a pleasure to see the delight on the faces of our students as they opened their envelopes this morning. These results do not come about by chance, the students have worked exceptionally hard, making the most of the plethora of opportunities afforded to them by our skilled and dedicated staff.”
