Mathematics Challenges

Congratulations to the 30 students in Years 9, 10 and 11 who were selected to sit the Intermediate Mathematics Challenge. Sorcha Churchill (Yr11) and Younghun Park (Yr10) were so successful that they are taking part in the prestigious Olympiad Challenge on 15 March. We are very proud of all the students who gained additional Awards.

Students in Year 7 to 10 have been taking part in Southampton University Mathematics Challenge, hoping to replicate the success of previous years in this very challenging competition.

Selected Students in Years 7 and 8 will be taking part in the Junior Mathematics Challenge on 26 April.

Our amazing KS5 Mathematics Students are inspiring our younger students with a variety of activities and challenges in our weekly KS3 Mathematics Challenge Club (Thursday Lunchtimes in B18).

Mathematical careers command very high salaries with Mathematics Graduates expecting to start on £30K (those not going into teaching!) these challenges assist students to develop the pathways in their brains that will enable them to secure places on the most prestigious courses.
