Dress Code
Update for September 2023
Being part of a high achieving Sixth Form at St Peter's is a privilege. As part of this, we expect high standards in terms of what you wear. Our dress code has been designed to allow to you be comfortable whilst remaining smart, ensuring that what you do wear is suitable for a working environment. It is also important to remember that you are a role model to all the students at St Peter's School and you should make sure that you dress accordingly.
Clothing (examples of permitted clothing)
- Smart trousers/smart jeans
- Tracksuits bottoms are permitted on practical days for specific subjects that require it (including BTEC Sport, PE, Dance, Sports Leaders)
- Leggings are permitted on practical days for specific subjects that require it (including Dance and Drama).
- Skirts (appropriate length/cut for the workplace)
- Dresses (appropriate length/cut for the workplace)
- Cardigans (can be worn with a plain top underneath)
- Jumpers
- Blazers (can be worn with a plain top underneath)
- Shirts
- Blouses
- Polo Shirts
- T-shirts
Footwear (examples of permitted footwear)
- Formal shoes
- Casual shoes
- Boots
General
- Headwear should not be worn in the classroom, unless for religious or cultural reasons
- Footwear must be safe — no high heels or open toes
- Outerwear (Jackets) should not be worn in lessons
- In cases of any dispute, the Headteacher’s decision is final

- Crop tops (stomachs not showing)
- Strapped tops
- Ripped or faded jeans
- Sandals/open shoes
- Football/sports shirts
- Beachwear
- Loungewear
- Hoodies
