This week the Year 10 Food Prep students have been making Crème Patissiere with crème anglaise, fruit and coulis.
Today, at Southbourne, we had an unexpected visit from the Environmental Health Officer, and we got awarded a 5 star food hygiene rating.
We love Food Tech at St Peter's! We've been getting so cheesy about it this week that we've made soft cheese. We then went even further and made butter.
Our enthusiastic Year 10 Food Preparation and Nutrition students got a taste of studying catering with Bournemouth & Poole College in their Escoffier Restaurant. Divided into three groups, they rotated through different kitchens to experience hands-on every stage of the prep, ready for the final taste.
A huge well done to the U13 girls football team against Twynham in a first round County Cup match, with an epic comeback from losing at half-time to win the match 7-5. They played brilliantly as a team and the goals were outstanding. On to the next round!
On Monday the U15’s boys rugby team took part in the Dorset and Wilts state school 10 a side rugby tournament. The boys were in high spirits on the way there but took a game or two to really start to fire on all cylinders.
On Tuesday 15 October at 6pm, in the De La Salle Theatre, students from Year 7 will be performing a selection of songs they have been studying and preparing for during lesson time as part of their schemes of work. This project hopes to bring the year group together and encourage their awareness of community, identity and mental health.
Year 10 Food Technology students were treated to a visit from Chef, James Golding, this week.
Our High Level Skills Cooker Club has been productive and fun on a Thursday night. Students in Year 10 and 11 have developed their skills, being more precise and creative with their signature dishes. We’ve laughed a lot and enjoyed some delicious Swiss rolls and profiteroles!
The year 8 rugby team enjoyed their first game of the season against Avonbourne. Once they had found there feet and remembered all the skills they had worked so hard on in training things began to fall into place and they played some very attractive rugby.
There was a real buzz around the school this morning when students were opening their results.
