Portsmouth Cathedral
All of our Y7 students have had the opportunity to spend a day at Portsmouth Cathedral. Staff and students spent the morning in the Cathedral, learning more about our Catholic faith and the churches history.
We then joined parishioners at Mass with students serving at the altar and leading the readings. For many it was their first school trip and was enjoyed by all. When asked about the day students said…
It was fun exploring the church. I learnt loads about the Cathedral and I had never been there before
I enjoyed representing my school and serving at Mass in the big Cathedral. It was scary at first as I have only ever served in my church at home
I liked learning about Holy water, our teacher showed us how to bless ourselves
I visited the gift shop and brought a Rosary and a Holy candle for my Granny
